'good call a64pilot! I'm just used to the old obvious drip pans that sit well under the unit.

Ummm.. its not about drying out the drain pan - the drain pan needs to DRAIN - bilge or overboard. The air conditioner in my boat generates a solid quart an hour in hot & humid conditions.
