Crossing the Atlantic

I am new to sailing and in the market for a used boat. I have looked at so many different forums and have utterly confused myself. I am wanting a boat that is between 35’-45’ most likely end around the 40’ area.

It will be a live aboard in the Bradenton, Florida area. I am retiring and wanting to cross the Atlantic among other oceans. I want it to be comfortable in blue water. I am wanting to stay under $40K for initial investment. What are some good options?

I appreciate any and all advice.

Thank you!
Tom

Hey.!!! No worries mate, tie in your Atlantic dreams with a purchase and learning in European waters.. some of the best waters in the world to learn in from the inland sea's in Holland to the W coast of Europe and the islands and countries in the Med.
Beats the hell outa the ICW & E coast..

Re: Crossing the Atlantic

Unfortunately I am going to have to learn off the coast of Florida. But at least it will be warm.
