Dickinson Propane Heater

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I will be purchasing Dickinson P12000 heater and installing it in Beneteau 40. Questions: 1. Propane tank - do I purchase a tank, have it filled and install on boat.....or..... use returnable tanks and exchange for full one? Which is more cost effective? 2. Pressure regulator - The Dickinson is a low pressure appliance - pressure regulator at Defender costs over $200......any suggestions?

Thanks bb

You will want to purchase an aluminum tank as the steel ones go ugly in short course.

I would look into the new composite tanks, no corrosion at all and you can see the gas.

Either, but I would lean towards re-fill, as exchange places are common back-home (Home Depot) but re-fill more common near marinas.

You didn't mention solenoid valves, gas detectors, propane lockers, or a CO monitor. Yup, it's a lot of stuff, but it's worth it. I love my Dickson heater.
