Dingy repair/replace?

I got this small hydro force inflatable and a 3hp motor for it. I’ve not tested it as it has these obvious issues, however it does hold air. Is this a throwaway or would a good adhesive fix the separation and all will be well?

It seems repairable to me. Check youtube for how to and what adhesives to use. I have never done it but wouldn't shy away from it.

Re: Dingy repair/replace?

It's fixable with the right two part adhesive. You most remove all the old adhesive, sand the material to get the best possible key and only use a very thin layer. Most folk make the mistake of applying too much. Been there do that.

Follow this once you have confirmed the type of tube material:

Re: Dingy repair/replace?

My last dinghy had that same separation and I glued it together. It lasted a year until the whole thing just blew apart at the seams.

Knowing the age would help. If it’s at the end of its life expectancy it’s only a temporary solution. If you are headed out on an extended cruise or depend on it for everyday transportation it’s may be time to find a replacement.

Re: Dingy repair/replace?

It is a glue issue.

It is not easy to glue. It is pcv material likely and pcv is difficult to glue.

I had some success with 2 part glue of this style:

Colle pneumatique NAUTICOLLE 22-SOROMAP PEINTURES VERNIS

It was VERY expensive and for your repair you will need two small cans.

Cheers,
b.
