Do you feel guilty?

Let me start this off by saying that I dearly love my sailboat. I truly think i ended up with the sailboat I was supposed to end up with for the rest of my life.

I feel conflicted though...I was just innocently looking at another sailboat this evening. It was just a random forum thread and the sailboat wasn't even mentioned directly. I googled it with no expectations, just pure innocent curiosity and was enamored by its beauty....

I feel all dirty like I'm cheating on a wife or girlfriend but all I did was take a quick look. I reactively quickly looked away and tried to click on the tiny little X at the top of the web page, but for some reason I couldn't. Why am i suddenly perspiring?

Re: Do you feel guilty?

Based on the semantics of your wording.... you may have a wife and a girlfriend or you may have several wives and several girlfriends and some of those do not mind that you have the others....
Why can you not also embrace your naughtycal polyamory for multiple boats?

(But yes, I also have this emotional commitment to boats. Many do)

Beauty, be it sailboats, women, cars, is something none of can ignore and we even lust for. Solution: either buy it or erase it from the mind. both equally difficult.

Boats aren't like spouses: sailors seem to have no problem letting their friends have a try. Sail as many different ones as you can, as often as possible.

(note I said SAIL, not OWN )

Re: Do you feel guilty?

polygamy is immoral and illegal.

you should feel guilty. your boat is your only and thinking of another is a form of "cheating"

now figure out a way to "punish" yourself so it won't happen again.

Don't forget to scorn any who have more than 1.

My boat treats me well, and I have put a lot of work into her. It does occasionally feel like cheating, looking at the younger models.

Yep, I frequently have to quickly switch to p*rnh*b.c*m when the missus comes in while I'm looking at boats.

Polygamy is immoral in certain belief systems and is illegal in many, possibly most legal systems.

But not all belief systems or legal systems.

Same with polyandry. SA is currently discussing this.

That may be true, unless you are into cuckholding

Oh thats a great idea. It would have prevented this whole entire incident if i was just looking at porn instead. I really should be looking at more anyways...Ok i think we're making progress here.

Every time I do that, somehow my boat knows and breaks something to get even!

Re: Do you feel guilty?

I'd take another long lascivious look, buy the first boat a string of pearls or something equivalent, apologize profusely and promise never to do it again and you'll probably be ok.
It is interesting that there are similarities in the guilt or feelings of cheating engendered by this kind of disloyalty to your own boat. Bizarre how these essentially lifeless entities get under our skin all the way to our hearts!

Re: Do you feel guilty?

My mom caught my dad obviously eyeing a young woman they were passing on the street. What are you looking at?" she said, "You're married."
"I'm married," he said, "not dead."

A boat is a jealous mistress. It will punish you in untold ways for neglecting her.
