Dolphin 14-ft

I bought it off Craigslist just yesterday. A 14-ft Dolphin Sailboat, but what kind of Dolphin is it? A Jr.? A Sr.? Just a plain old Dolphin, or maybe something else? Too much Dolphin info on the Net, but nothing really specific to get detailed info on the boat. I really don't need parts, but info on proper rigging. Maybe an "owner's manual" if one ever existed. Any advice or help about this particular Dolphin would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Dolphin 14-ft

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Pirate.

I belive that the Dolphin Senior has a Length O/All of 14' 6"; while the Dolphin Junior has a Length O/All of 13' 4".

Re: Dolphin 14-ft

Thanks, GordMay. I guess I will just have to get out my tape measure and see if I bought an extra 6-inches of boat since 14-ft seems to be the footage that does not exist!

Re: Dolphin 14-ft

The dolphin senior was a sunfish look alike. There was a dolphin 17 that was sloop rigged. For any more info, contact Ronald at 936-760-5303. He is owner of Dolphin sailboats and should be able to help you.

I learned to sail on a Dolphin Senior 3 decades ago in the Laguna Madre. Sweet handling little boat.

Re: Dolphin 14-ft

I agree and the 6 pack cooler is a nice touch.

As you are cruising the gulf, we may see you. We sail out of Galveston Bay and are planning a cruise east this fall. If you see a black hulled Shannon 38, give a holler.
