I am getting conflicting information on the Furling system on our 1977 Islander 32 --- Can this system be operated with a Reefed Headsail?

We currently have a 165% headsail, which before I buy a smaller, more manageable headsail, I'd like to confirm that I can safely reef my larger sail in gusty conditions.

Rig Rite still carries replacement and maintenance parts for these older Furlers, an email query to their Tech Support team yielded a response of "of course you can" - I found a thread in another forum where a former Dyna Furl owner suggested it can't be reefed --

any DYNA FURL still out there? can this furler be reefed?
