Endeavor 32 Outboard vs Inboard

Im new to sailing and i got my first boat a Columbia Mk II 26 and its just not big enough so im selling to buy a new one, so after searching for a bigger boat and not finding any within my budget. I decided to call my local marinas and ask if they had any abandoned boats. After hearing no so many times i get a call from a marina saying they had an Endeavor 32 and after going to take a look at it it is a beautiful boat and in nice condition (Wish i took pictures), but no motor. now would it make sense to get a new diesel and tranny or just get an outboard and outboard mount? Im still in high school so i wouldn't be cruising just sailing in the bay.

Thanks, Seamus

Re: Endeavor 32 Outboard vs Inboard

The Endeavor has a reverse transom that is well off the water, installing an outboard bracket that gets the propeller into the water will take some serious engineering.

I didnt even think of that... I think that it would all in all be easier to put a new diesel in, it just sounds like a pain in the ass.

Does it matter what type of transmission and motor i install as long as its close in hp? I believe it was originally a 20hp Yanmar diesel.

Which bay? If just sailing locally, the motor only needed to get in/out the marina,
so I'd suggest an inboard electric motor. Going to be a lot easier than installing a diesel.
