First Cruise / Last Sail of the Season

Hey! It's my first cruise and the last sail of the season! I just got won an old Bristol 24 off Ebay (I have a thread about that happy event - Bristol 24 by Accident) & I am sailing it home this Thursday / Friday with my 15 year old son and a good friend. Bass Harbor, ME to Friendship Harbor, ME.

I'm planning to go through Merchant's Row and anchor at Vinalhaven on Thursday. We'll cross to the coast below Owls Head and follow it home on Friday!

Awesome stuff!

So far, all I've done is a few hours here, a few hours there cruising the bay in my Tanzer 22. Totally excited about this trip!

Both boats are coming out of the water after this trip. :-/

It was a great cruise! The boat handled wonderfully. We sailed 70 or so miles - really good starter for me. Saw lots of seals and a bunch of porpoises. My son was trolling off the back and had a couple seagulls grab his bait and get pulled along as the refused to give it up. Fun times!
