FurlerBoom: reefed sail is un-reefing

Looking for tips from FurlerBoom users.

When reefed, the mainsail has a tendency to come out. The mandrel in the boom spins and the reefing line will no longer hold it. There doesn’t seem to be enough friction between the drum and reefing line.

With the main sail installed, I cannot see how things are put together to make sure that nothing is broken or worn in the mandrel mechanism. My thought is that the reefing line is old and has become slippery.

Any ideas to get more holding power?

Replacing the reefing line... how to feed new line through the mechanism on the boom?

Thanks!!!

Rob
