Hans Christian 33 Cutter Resale Market

Hello, I am seriously looking into buying a 1985 Hans Christian 1985 Cutter.
For the last 20 years she has been in the Great Lakes area and she is in great condition. My intent is to cruise around for 3,4,5 years and then put her back on the market. When I am looking at used market, it seems that the H.C. 33 Cutters cost more than other manufacturers and similar designs. I am wrong in assuming that they don't loose their value as much? In 3,4, 5...years can I expect to get some of my outlay back? Thanks for feedback.

They are great little boats. I have owned mine for 4 years now and have really enjoyed it. I would suggest that resale values for boats that old are largely related to actual condition and age/quality of equipment. If the sails, rigging, engine and electronics are modern and in good shape then you should have no trouble getting most of your initial investment back upon selling in a few years. If the one that you are considering is the black one in Canada, I can tell you that it has been on the market since at least the Spring of 2019, which is when I bought mine. They were asking $110k for it at that time. I'm curious as to why it has not sold.
