Help deciding on a boat

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help!

I'm in the market for a liveaboard monohull that eventually like to take down to the Caribbean and South America. I found this boat Below in North Carolina and fall in love with it but just want to make sure I don't make the wrong decision :-)

Any advice you have or anything concerning you might see in the listing would be greatly appreciated. Furthermore, anyone out there liveaboard one of these or gone on any extended cruising trips? How was it?

Re: Help deciding on a boat

Looks like nice Hunter, well equipped!
You'll spend a few bucks on cosmetics,, new cushions probably, and the hull paint looks pretty beat up,,,

You will do well to go on the Hunter Owners Forum at:

https://forums.sailboatowners.com/in.../big-boats.40/

You can research your 37', get advice from owners, and ask questions!

It is a GREAT resource for issues you will come across, and you will!!

she's still a 38 year old boat -
There are advantages to Hunter ownership,
and access to parts and support is one of them,,

good luck,
cheers,
MOCHA

Re: Help deciding on a boat

Gas installation looks a bit of a shambles so could do with some work. However, the asking price is $14.5k and if they take an offer on that then you have a good sized cheap boat to go sailing with now rather than wait a decade to pay for a more expensive yacht.

Colour of hull may be a problem in the tropics with heat.

Would I buy it, yes after a survey.
