Is that your tongue firmly planted in your cheek there, Dan?

If it is indeed a Farr Wally 80, as posited by Vasco, well, it may be that one person can sail it for a picture in a magazine ad, but I'd love to see a singlehanded sailor trying to race the damn thing around a demanding course.

I'm equally not sure if it's a production or custom built yacht - but to me it looks just great.
Not sure it's a Wally build - they usually do say so - somewhere.
The tail end of the cover line is the same style as usually used by Swan - so my bets on a production Swan, around 80 foot, with custom carbon rig, and my perfect idea of a cabin boy...

Here ya go, dundersten, a Frers 50 has popped up on eBay. It's in Long Beach, CA and there are any number of members here who could check it out for you. And it's being offered "No Reserve," so somebody wants this vessel sold!

eBay Motors: frers 50 racing sailboat VERY fast no reserve (item 320156275844 end time Sep-17-07 20:58:14 PDT)

And look at that big stern, just waiting for you to have Corum painted on it.

Frers 50 - Merrythought

Hi TaoJones,

Did you find any info about the Frers 50 Merrythought which was for sale on Ebay?

I own a Frers 50 myself and was also interested in this boat. Unfortunately it looks like the vessel has been sold some weeka ago

It's certainly a Swan but i don't know the model. Maybe one of the new CS range, about 60'.

I know this is an old thread but I think that is a Swan. (Cove stripe, aft)

I saw an ad for this boat and the aft life lines were down with a guy at the wheel sailing and I thought to myself, there is no way I would own a boat like that, I would be overboard.

While this is a good looking boat, I would go with the awesome old classic wooden racer in the Panerai ads.

I would also go with the Panerai watch over this corum thing! The comparison between the boats is similar to the watches, classic old world functional style vs garish and gaudy modern tool.

Not that I would like to sail on her....
