hey guys does anyone no much about the cater 30

I am interested in sailing the pacific island's (Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, Tahiti, cook islands) , I have found a cater 30 which may be a good option, im going to have a look at it this week. Below is the link to the boat. CARTER 30 boat details - BoatPoint Australia

Can anyone tell me if they have had any experience with this type of boat or other caters.

Thanks for your help.

Don't know anything about 'em. It lokks like a nice boat though, and the price is ok.

There doesn't appear to be a bow roller though, which will make setting& retrieving an anchor a pain in the baskside.

Yeah i didn't notice that, I will definitely have to spend some time on the boat to get it ready, however the price has kind of got me at the moment.

Basically just trying to find out if this boat is a good starting point.

I worked for Carter in the early '70's when we were designing the Carter 30. I do not recognize the boat in the pics as the same Carter 30 that I know. It may be a custom built boat. Most production Carter 30's were built in Japan and had long, convenyional cabin trunk. Still, a nice looking old IOR style boat and worth a look.
