How to determine if boat interior has taken on water?

Folks:
i will be looking at a "Sandy" boat in NJ and am trying to determine both its structural integrity and history during and after the storm. Liquidator openly noted she is a "Sandy" casulty but no more detail. From pictures the hull appears intact, only noticeable damage is extensive gelcoat scratches with some areas where glass fibres are visible, and starboard side stanchions are bent parallel to deck. I know to look for water stains on interior teak and will check condition of electrical connections for rust/corrosion, but any other helpful hints would be appreciated. If it passes my novice inspection will decide on whether to bring in a surveyor.
thnks
dave

If she took a lot of water and sunk even partially you will know it. I doubt if they could even have it cleaned and dried by now anyway.

Scum line in lockers and engine room, check the oil in both engine and transmission, excess rust on the engine etc. teak paneling doesn't tolerate water it will show signs of moisture, be suspicious if its freshly painted.
