Hull number for Allied Seawind 30 ketch?

Hello forum, I am looking for my hull number on my 1963 Allied Seawind ketch and can't find it anywhere! Anyone have any ideas as to where to look?

I also am looking for a more specific forum/owners site dedicated to this MK-1 model of Seawind...does anyone have any links they can steer me towards?

Thanks!!

Hull numbers are on the upper starboard corner of the stern.

Not on a boat of that vintage!!!

The only place I've found our hull number (other than on the stern) is the allied plate in the cockpit.

Could possibly be stamped into the keel. Paint makes it difficult to locate.

Hey all, sorry to resurrect this post, but I still can't find it! I don't see any name plates in the cockpit, and the boat is in the water for the winter...any ideas?

Originally, on wooden boats, the number and measurement tonnage was carved into a main cabin beam, or a major significant structural member.
Early glass boats sometimes had it carved into a hatch coaming or inner trim.
Blue has her #,1563, on the lazarette hatch aft trim piece.

USCG HINs or hull numbers were not in use at the time your boat was built. The numbers the others talk about being in the main frames would be USCG documentation number. A boat your size may not be documented. If you need a HIN (Hull Identification Number) for legal purposes you can get one assigned Through your state. Contact the agency that is in charge of registrations.

Not necessarily for USCG purposes. My boat has never been to US, builder Cheoy Lee put the number in a safe place.
BTW, a glass boat built 1965.

A hull number is the number in a series to come out of the mold.

A documentation number is a paper filing number for the government to keep track of your paperwork.

The two are unrelated. An older boat will have a hull number, but not nessarally a hull identification number or a documentation number

Re: Hull number for Allied Seawind 30 ketch?

There is only a brass plaque with the hull number on my 1969 Pearson. Easily removable and lost. Probably the same with your boat except yours has been lost. How was the boat identified on the sales contract or title when you bought the boat??? Should have been a number there. Checking with the State Registration Bureau might turn it up. If none of those sources works out you'll have to track down the previous owners to see if they can remember what the hull number is. If the boat was ever documented, the CG Documentation office may have the paperwork for that that should have a hull number. You'll need to know the name of the boat that it was documented under.

My 1963 Allied Seawind has the documentation number followed by net. 6 carved into the forward side of the main cabin beam- under the mast. I can see it when I lay down in the V birth. Suppose yours isn't that easy or you would have found it.

Re: Hull number for Allied Seawind 30 ketch?

Thats the documentation number yes, I have mine just above the folding table on the bulkhead. I'm referring to the hull number, which should be (for our years) something under 50 I'd think. Mine is probably number 26, from the number on the original main sail.
