Info on Hardin 50

Looking for any info, specifications, photos, drawings, websites, etc of 1974 Hardin 50s.

I am interested in purchasing one and have not found much on the web.

Thx

Re: Info on Hardin 50

The only info I see is the 44s and 45s. I have seen both and been onboard both and they have slight differences. I'm wondering if the seller is including the bowsprit?

Re: Info on Hardin 50

I never seen or heard of a Hardin 50, only the 45 ft model, but it does not mean a Hardin 50 does not exist, somebody might have extended a 45 ft model??
If you are looking for traditional boats from that era, also look at Vagabond 47, Hudson 50, Skye 51, Formosa 51, Downeaster 45, Durbeck 46, and I am sure there a dozen more of this ilk.

Yeah, sometimes listers use “LOA” instead of “LOD” which is more common.

Bow sprit but more common is to list a swim platform.

Go to saildata.com Hardin 44/45 for specifications and ratios. I noted that the PY and EY measurements for the mizzen are not given. If needed there is a Definition button on the page for an explanation of the ratios.

Re: Info on Hardin 50

The Hardin 44/45 have rectangular portholes and the one I am looking at and the Formosa 51 and Hudson 50 have round portholes. The Hardin I am looking at is very similar to the Formosa and Hudson exterior.

Going to look at the interior now.

Re: Info on Hardin 50

I’ve only been involved in a 48 Harden. Very sturdy well built boat. However, I did not like the deck stopped mast (on a 48???, give me a break!). Also, there was NO compression post (this was a ketch) for either mast, instead they relied upon a beefed up deck support. Frankly, I’d stay away fro it because of this configuration…
