Instrument Replacement

I have a 1979 J30 with a QM15 Yanmar . The temp gauge and oil pressure gauge have dry rotted bezels. They work, but are falling out of the dash. If I replace the gauges, is it necessary to replace sending units. They were replaced during OH a couple years ago.

Re: Instrument Replacement

No. You can buy generic replacements or OE replacements from Yanmar at a premium.

Re: Instrument Replacement

If you decide to go with Generic or other gauges you may have to change the sender units as they are not all compatible so they may work, but the readings may not be accurate in all cases so some checking may be required,

Cheers Steve
