Interested in purchasing German flagged monohull in Panama, U.S. Citizen. Insurance?

I'm planning on taking a look at a monohull boat in Panama. The vessel is German flagged. Eventually I would plan to sail it to the United States. However I might want to keep it in Panama and Central America to explore the area before returning to the USA.

I'm then wondering about how to protect my asset. What reputable insurance companies would insure the boat if I registered it in Panama? The boat doesn't have a large value like some of the yachts here. It is an older boat and the asking price is under $75k.
