is tartan 4400 for blue water boat ?

Hello,
would appeciate some advice on tartan boats, specifically tartan 4400, from experienced owners if this particullar tartan camparable to some of the euro Water boats">blue water boats, such as HR 43, contest 44, etc in terms of performance, safety, resale value, etc

As an AVID Tartan owner I would say ---if it says Tartan, it can do blue water.

There is a very very active Tartan yahoo group and a fairly active Tartan FB group. Both groups have long term owners who are candid about the boats and the issues they have run across.

I believe Mads is working on the refit of a Warrior 38. According to SailboatData.com, a Dixon/Primrose design built by Trident Marine in the UK.

We have a 4400 and have just one season on Lake Michigan. She is rated as a performance cruiser and handles well. We are in the process of outfitting her for a long journey. Seems very capable. There is a 4400 Facebook site and there are about a dozen boats on that page that could answer more questions. We love it.
