There are lots of them cruising the Caribbean and all our friends that own them
are happy with them. They sail well for a full keel boat.

They are well designed and built and I think well worth the money.

We had one on our short list when we were buying.

Re: island packet 37

We owned an IP37 about ten years ago. Cruised it from Florida to the Abacos and up to Maine. It was the most comfortable cruising sailboat we ever owned.

They aren't the best going to weather and the full keel makes backing difficult. But they are well built, strong and stable.

Go to iphomeport.com, the IP owners website and ask.

Welcome to the Island Packet Yacht Owners' Association is another good site for connecting with IP owners.

We loved our IP 380.

IPs are good boats in many ways. They are not speedsters to windward, but shallower draft is worth giving up something in my book.

I have sailed often on a friend's IP, and have been pleasantly surprised. I've also worked on them. This windlass installation, as well as several other systems on the boat, kept me busy for a while. The quality seems to be there, and unlike many others, the factory systems are installed where they CAN be gotten to by some poor schmuck like me.
