Looking for a manual or other info on the Islander Bahama 30. Does anyone have anything they can share?

This page has links to the original spec sheets (4 pages) about half way down.

Re: Islander Bahama 30 manual

What are you looking for and what year are you interested in?
I have the original owners manual for a 1981 Islander Bahama 30.
The pages are somewhat yellow and the original binder is held together with
package tape. I also have some of information for the ancillary equipment / hardware / Volvo Penta MD7A.

Re: Islander Bahama 30 manual

Don't know exact date. Late 70s. Haven't taken possession yet. Boat was donated to local Sea Scouts program. Owner still chasing down documents. Would it be possible to get a photo copy of your manual? Willing to pay for your time and trouble. Thanks

Re: Islander Bahama 30 manual

Let me scan a couple of pages and see how they look.
If their OK and readable I'll scan them all and post them.
I should know by this evening.

Re: Islander Bahama 30 manual

Here is a link to the specification sheet and the first section of the manual "Power Systems". I was unable to attach them to this reply.

You'll have to excuse the quality, some of the original documents are printed on vellum, and the others are thin and faded..

So, is this what you want? If so, I can scan the next six sections.
( it may take a couple of days )

Section II is electrical / standard
Section III is electrical / optional
Section IV is plumbing / standard
Section V is plumbing / optional
Section VI is spars and rigging
and Section VII is maintenance.

Re: Islander Bahama 30 manual

I added section 2 electrical, and section 3, plumbing to the folder above.
I should be able to finish the next two sections tomorrow.
there is nothing in the sections for optional electrical or optional plumbing.

All of the manuals I have are at this link, as I find out anything new I will post it on the forum and update the link.

Good luck with your boat, we just finished replacing all of the running rigging on ours and are headed out onto the San Francisco Bay Saturday.
Clear, sunny and 12 knot winds. Perfect!

Re: Islander Bahama 30 manual

I would really appreciate a copy of 81-82 Islander Bahama manual or other information that would be helpful with my new-to-me boat.

Re: Islander Bahama 30 manual

Look into the wiring.
Helped a friend with restoring a Bahama 30, the wiring was not tinned and was rotted in some places.
Found melted wire bundles where the wire inside it's casing had corroded and the ensuing heat generated from the resistance caused the wires to melt together and in some places had exposed wire. It was one flip of a switch away from burning to the waterline.
Pulled all new wiring and tossed the old harness.
A number of production boats from the 70s didn't use tinned wiring, it''s well worth pulling off electrical panels to check.

Re: Islander Bahama 30 manual

That’s odd.
My 1984 IB30 has all tinned wiring, but I’m not sure it’s original either.

I have the complete set of original 1984 docs, manuals, wiring, plumbing, etc diagrams. The diagrams are separate fold out pieces of paper. I’ve been trying to get it digitized. Let me see if I can get it done this week. It may not be until the weekend…
