Kettenburg 32 rotting wood in hull

I'm very new to sailing and recently took a closer look at a Kettenburg 32. The boat seems to be in good condition overall, but I've noticed some rotting wood in the hull at the bow.


I've tried to find the name for this particular piece but haven't had any luck. It's a wooden strip laminated into the hull that runs from the cabin entry to the bow, just below where the toeline is attached (see first photo).

Above the v berth are some spots where the wood is rotten and very soft (see second photo). However, it seems to get drier and more solid when I poke further in.
Since this piece is in the hull, I assume it's structural and could be an issue.


Aditionally, the fibreglass layer above the wood seems to detatch (see 3rd photo with my fingers).


Does anyone have any ideas on how to repair it or know what it's called?
