Leak around shaft log beneteau mooring

My first sailing boat so very new to all this. We have a small saltwater leak but enough to want to source it. As beneteau have the hull cover it has been a nightmare. Weeks later I've source it to coming from under the fuel tank. There is no throughhulls located above this and there is no sign of water around rudder so my conclusion is it has to be to do with the prop shaft. I have a dripless seal and it is not leaking from that.
Does anyone have an info or ideas about fixing this. The boat repairer we have been working with tells me I need to rip the divider wall out and remove fuel tank to locate and fix it, big job! I've already taken the boat out last month to fix a thru hull he suggested was the source which turned out not to be.
Thanks in advance

It might help to help us help you to tell us the model/boat size and year.

Check the rudder post pacing gland above the quadrant. And, check the exhaust hose at/near the discharge thru-hull (they're prone to cracking).

FWIW...

The foregoing should have read: "...the rudder post packing gland below the quadrant." See following:
