Re: Leaving Code Zero Up

We have a Rolly Tasker Code C. While no means a perfect sail for us, I wanted a light nylon sail with no UV cover, as I feel this keeps the sail flying much better in light air. While keeping it rigged up would be more convenient, it's not too much of a hassle to stow it and hoist it -plus I would always fear the dreaded partial unraveling at the dock in a storm when away.

However, one of those really expensive North/Quantum/UK sails might have a light-weight solution with a UV strip for you (??).

Good luck and let us know what you end up doing and how it works for you!

One method would be to have a small block on the spinnaker halyard head fitting and a relatively light hoisting line, say 4mm dyneema. This would then be tied off at the mast base when not required, much like the sock hoisting line on a spinnaker/sock system.
