A few days ago a heavy storm moved through our area and my job unfurled itself and got shredded by the wind.
So first - stupid of me not to secured (!) the furling line. But now I am looking for a used head sail for the O'Day 272.
Any suggestions please?

Try Bacon in Annapolis and Minney's in SoCal... they both have extensive inventories of used sails.

And please fill in some details in your profile. Things like your location really help us to help you without extraneous posts seeking that sort of info.

Jim, I think that the basic details should be a requirement on joining, as you have said here and previously, makes things much easier for all.

Location would be the most useful requirement update the Forum could make. I think we're ALL tired of saying, 'where are you?'

Like this guy. The only clue we have to go on is that it's an O'Day, therefore likely "somewhere in North America".

That narrows it down.

Masthead has a search function for used sails:

You should be able to see many sails that are close to the dimensions you type in. I purchased a spinnaker from them many years ago, but I'm local, walked in and walked out with a new sail.

Measure your existing jib luff, leach and foot. Then do an internet search on "used sails" and you will a number of sites that sell useful jib sails. Then match the used sails with your dimensions to find one that fits.
