Main winches on the CSY 44.

I was wondering if someone could quickly tell me the size of the 4 large main winches on a CSY44 (late 70s).
Also perhaps the source of such info, is there a good active csy forum somewhere?

Thank you.

Followed my own thinking and found a csy forum....nit sure how busy it is though. Csyowners.com

Maybe look for one for sale with photos of the cockpit. Winches themselves might be labeled, or might show up described somewhere on the listing.

I looked through a bunch of ads and in YouTube sales walkthrough videos no one keyed in on the winches. They just scan past them, they look big maybe 55s?

Yes I have asked there, and no reply yet. This issue is time sensitive so I am searching everywhere...anyone have 4 x lewmar 55s old but serviceable, going for a song?
Or any decent price really.

The largest winches on My 79 CSY 44 are (2) Lewmar 48 Self Tailers for the genoa sheets.

Thank you, that pretty much confirms.
Btw was 48 enough, or would you prefer bigger?
I might as well go bigger if I'm replacing.

The 48 seems good to me.

Re: Main winches on the CSY 44.

We had a Bristol 45.5 that is similar displacement to the CSY. Our primaries were 65s and th secondaries were 55s - the original owner bought the entire option list I think. They were wonderful and let my smallish wife handle the boat without difficulty. Not sure I would want to go below 55s and get 65s if you can (and they fit). The obvious problem is that such big winches are obscenely expensive. I got the winches re-chromed after finding out replacement of the four was something like US$12000.
