Mainsheet traveller and track

The Morgan 31 sail boat was designed without a main sheet traveller - only has a single point of attachment on the stern cockpit coaming. Has anyone fitted a traveller to this type of boat who can give me some advise in terms or position for ease of operation and strength of course.
