Re: Making offer on Catalina 36

Update: meeting with seller tomorrow as he cleans his personals out. Thought he would take care of it this last weekend, but he ram late. Funds dispersing in the next few days. Looking forward to spending a few nights on board!

Thanks everyone for your encouragement and positive thoughts. Will most definitely keep updates coming in.

Re: Making offer on Catalina 36

It is official...I have the title and keys to Thirty Six Seas. Went and finished the paperwork up today. There are now a few things that I have to take care of like registration and insurance. Cannot wait to get it out of the slip and around the local waters. Whales are running right now and would like to head out to visit with them some

Ohhh, Nooo,

Whales just hate production boats, especially Catalinas, and will sink you right smart if you go near them...

Seriously, enjoy your first sail. It will be a thrill with or without whales!

Cheers,

Jim

Fantastico!

Now the REAL work has just started...

#1 Boat US unlimited towing - get it... $125
#2 Insurance, plenty of threads here... In So Cal, my additional AAA policy was $150, 1Mill/50k. Latter boat US was $450

Whales get thick in April...

Good luck and happy sailing.
Practical Sailor has some really good articles in their archive on insurance, I found a lot of good information there that helped keep the insurance brokers I dealt with honest. Helped me get the right insurance for my needs and not over pay.
Hope your new ride is all you expected.
