Marine How To? anybody heard from them recently? Opportunity to Help Maine Sail

Hello all- my fave marine website, Rod Collins' MarineHowTo web store has been down it seems for a couple of weeks and just when I was ready to do some shopping. Repeated e-mails bring no response.

For the unaware, his site has the most excellent & in-depth articles on marine electrical and how to fix items that I've found. I hope like hell he is in good health because the man is just a gem, any sightings?

The how-to articles are still there, the shop is also there, but currently without any products (aka - empty product database). I would guess that Rod's just having the webshop updated?

OMG- this confirms my worst fear. If anybody is in contact with him, please tell him the rest of the World is not quite done with him & we wish him a complete & speedy recovery.

It’s a sad fact of life that bad things happen to good people. I wish Rodd Collins the best of luck.

Very sad news indeed. I wish Rod a speedy and full recovery and hope to see him back here soon. I have learned so much from his website and the comments and advice he generously shares here on the forum.

Rod's brother has a message on the Marine How To website indicating that Rod is still in the hospital and that he has mounting medical bills with no income from his web store. There is a button to donate.

Realizing how much valuable information I got from his site and his posts here on CF, I didn't hesitate to donate.

I wondered, too. I was looking to buy from him, and even sent him a donation a few weeks ago. After hearing nothing, I went to another source. He's a great source of info, and I have no problem paying for it. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

No. If you have read his description of the tape, you'll learn/know just why that is.
