pirate Mast Tracks

I've seen where some have had problems hoisting and lowering the main due to a problem with either the cars or the track. I have the same problem as did the original owner who sailed her 30k sea miles. My plan is to do a track insert from Strong(tm). Has anyone used this system or know anything about it? It seems like the cure.

Re: Mast Tracks

I have one and it is great. Sailed to the Caribbean and back. Would buy it again.

Re: Mast Tracks

Where did you get your setup and what was your $/ft? I've seen 27/ft so far.

Re: Mast Tracks

I believe the Strong track is what J/boats uses. You would hear very quickly from a lot of people if it didn't work well.

Re: Mast Tracks

I have a strong track from tides marine. you need to get the slugs that go with it put on your sail. The thing works like a charm. Let the halyard go and the sail drops instantly. I have a dutchman system so it drops nicely flaked on the boom.
