I'd say the socks can go.

Everything else, like others have said, MAY have a purpose. You need to find out.

One more thing I learned the hard way: Old paint cans, tubes of sealant and similar materials are worth keeping if you ever need to buy a new one to match.

Socks are great for cushioning wine bottles on a passage lol.

if your going to be in a place where you have to do it your self you need almost everything if you want to go into a boat yard and have everything specific and only the best quality you probably don't use quite as much on remote voyages like canada and alaska if you wanna pay the price someone can usually fly you out the part as you can flag other boats for help if your blue water it takes lots better equipment that just don't break its all basically a calculated risk but newer adhesives n equipment usually better all the advise i read in this column seams good to me good sailing and have a blast
