on thru hulls, i am fairly ok-- they were changed out for last owner and zincs have been religiously used-- i will be adding dry zincs inside on teh shaft log and shaft and packing gland areas -- haul will help me change zinc on shaft sans diver, also..!! and i get the opportunity to feel up her hull, and peruse my rudder attachments and other important thingies specific to undersides.....

I would love to join you for the shake down too?

i wish there was a way to clean up this thread and or 'shorten'/abbreviate it so that new readers dont have to go thru 11 pages to catch up???

but for now, a simple bmp to the top will hopefully help to keep it current...

pirate Should we keep Pirate's afloat....

If they're Female, Fun and over Forty..... most bloody definitely....
Whats Jessica, Laura etc got that she hasn't.... lotsa bloody sponsers...
So far CF's been awesome in getting our own intrepid trans-ocean voyager ZeeHag that step closer... and she's going the wrong way...
Unlike MarkJ who took the easy E-W route.(Sorry Mark... poetic licence)...
We are One Third Away from the Lift and Launch for the start of this Epic Voyage which we.. the priviged CF Members will get to read about for free....
The non PC "Adventures of Cruising on a Budget' and 'How to Live and Cruise Amusingly'.... none of this boring "I sat and peered outa the window at Tierra del Feugo through the mist"....
But real action stuff... like... "Ran into some CF's today and invited em over to the boat for 'Pollo Asado'... one of them brought RHUMM.... for some reason some guy on the next boat called the Harbour Police...." obviously this would be written in 'ZeeSpeak'.... giving you a free extra half hours happy reading as you figure out what she said....
"Sorry Zee... I'm just kidding... put the Cutlass down.."
There's many good folks out there who've dipped in their pockets and contributted..
There's many who wish they could but can only send their 'Best Wishes'.... and there's those who may not know...
My choice of thread having been sort of selective in the 'Mono's Section"...
I hope the 'Mod's have no obection to me Posting News about our own Barbary Pirates efforts to go on the prowl again...
If so place in a place it will achieve most coverage...
Many Thanks once again to all of you... you guys are great..
Phil

boatman you are tooo cute-- lol-- i am speaking with kate tomorrow. if their pricing is too high i have a friend will help me pure sail to anacapa to the yard where my friend works the travel lift--- see how they do and i have another option--i am not yet dead..prayers are accepted----the shaft log is pink for over a foot abaft the beam to which the packing gland is affixed...so i am concerned --there is also a white on the log--i am having another soul inspect it tue and then we see more--and i will place dry zincs on my shaft log after the work is done. is only place on formosas not protected by zincs. mebbe yard will cut me a deal ... yeah, i know-- but one can always hope!
smb--you did say pandora's box is abaft that beam--- you were accurate. wow!!
and i will be able to have sailing trip after this is finished--- will progress towards the mazatlan goal after the underwater stuff is finished and all will hear of and see the trip, as i post...folks may come with as they wish--doesnt matter where i am -- you folks are welcome to join
