cool but I'm curious ...

How long does it take you to transition the bike from suitcase to riding, and back again? Is it something you can easily do every time you leave the boat?

Do you need the case to carry the disassembled bike around? If so what do you do with the case while riding?

Once its together i leave it together until it needs to be stored ( if i am leaving the boat its usually coming with me on a job or stored in the case). The case is designed so it meets all the airline requirements of standard luggage, no luggage fees.

Everything for the bike fits in the case. The only special tool you need is the coupler wrench. ( though i have a tiny cresent wrench, a mutlitool and this micro crank puller that makes life super easy)

Its a totally different animal than a Brompton. Xt/XTR, CC headset, disc brakes, Phil wood MTB hubs, Phil wood BB.

I can put it toghter in 15 minutes. It takes me a little longer to break it apart and store it neatly in the case.

I had it chopped and the couplers installed by Blinkey in PA. The couplers are a work of art.

Its one of my prized toys

Nice . I want one ... but as well as the Brompton, not instead of. Being able to go from bag to bike and back in 15 seconds has a lot of advantages too.

You must have some slow old paceline groups! :-)

Well, it would be nice to find out in theory before I find out in practise, especially since we're getting opposing information about the practicalities and maintenance issues.

Nice bike! Do you find rust an issue on the boat?

Re: Monohull with room to store 2 full sized bicycles?

Friend of mine circumnavigated on a TopHat 25, kept a 10 speed non folding which wheels of in the Vberth. Occasionally took up to 4 paying crew. So I'm think 28' minimum for 2 bikes is an embarrassment of riches. Not that that's a thing anymore.
