Morris 40 Ocean Series sailboat

I am considering purchasing one of these boats and wondered if any of the forum had any experience with them or comments?

Mighty fine is right. Very well made and classic, beautiful lines.

Unless the boat was trashed, sunk or stolen you can't go wrong.

That was a close second to the boat we last bought. All I can say after carefully researching the 40 is that you feel confident in the type of sailing you plan and that it fits your specific needs. The quality is certainly there but it is designed as a purpose built boat.

Re: Morris 40 Ocean Series sailboat

Thanks for your reply. My main purpose for the boat would be for coastal sailing with family. And perhaps some limited offshore cruising, and maybe occasional racing

I have a Morris 46 which I bought in 2008. I have been very pleased with the boat and the Morris people. You pay top dollar for top quality. They are very customer oriented.

What is "purpose built boat"?
What was the boat that won out?
