Re: Nautor Swan 40/140

Hello Marty,
Which Swan 40 are you looking to purchase? The Frers design or the S&S design?
Are you in the US or in Europe?

Hello Oguz

Yes, original mast and rig. 1993.

For the companion way, we put 2 grab rails on the brigde deck. Very usefull in heavy seas !

Hi Oguz,
I'm looking for a Frers design but open to S&S. I am living in California. Hopefully I'll find something here on the west coast.

I am not sure so I just post it for yous that there is now a S&S blog on the web where many less known designs are shown and discussed. A must for any S&S lover.

Marty,

Did you check out Blue Moon, Swan 40-142, from 1996? İt is over in California, İ believe.

Thank you, pmd. You have been very helpful. İ hope you get to enjoy your Swan 40 for many years to come. You must give me a shout if you sail to Turkey someday.

Dear pmd,
Just watched a Youtube video of a Swan 40, S/Y Wild at Heart, based in France. İs this your boat, maybe?

Re: Nautor Swan 40/140

Congratulations, Marty. How long have you had the boat for? Has she been up to your expectations? I would love to hear from you.
I tried to purchase 40/150 (from 1999), but I could not manage to sell my current boat on time, and 40/150 has just been sold.
Regards, Oguz

Re: Nautor Swan 40/140

Hi Oguz,
This is my first boat and I could not be happier. I brought her down from San Francisco last April in 20 ft seas and winds up to 35kns. We were downwind and the trip was great. I couldn't have asked for a better first trip.
I sail locally in the San Diego area. I'm starting to get the racing bug. I crew on a B-36.7 which is competitive and fun but Blue Moon is speaking to me. Race me she says and I must obey.

Wow! Wonderful. I understand it is a delight to helm the boat. How has the interior configuration worked out for you so far? Are you finding the plan well laid out? Are you not finding the companionway too steep?
Thank you.

Hello Oguz!

As I am interested in buying a Grand Soleil 40, the cruising version, could you kindly please share with me your owner experience with this boat. Briefly, as I do not dare to take you too much of your time. Maintenance, sailing performance, any + -, etc.

Thank you in advance!
