Need help

Just bought a 1984 Catalina 36. Want to sail down east coast and to the caribbean. Need an auto pilot and an AIS. The boat already has a one or two year old Raymarine MFD E7d with wind, speed, depth, GPS, radar.

I want to stay with Raymarine so i am looking at the AIS650 Class B AIS Transceiver and either a Wheel or linear drive auto pilot.

1. will these two things integrate with the MFD that I have? (I am thinking yes)
2. What is the difference between wheel and linear Auto Pilot? The wheel is a lot cheaper so I would like to get that one unless there is something bad about them. p.s. My boat has cable steering.
