need some opinions on best brand of used diesel

lookin for an 80hp. In my price ive found a perkins and Lehman and ive hardly been looking. i only have experience with volvo penta and parts were expensive for that but the quality seems good enough. Im Considering a lehman but ive always been a chevy guy . And whats this with them having seperate oil for the injector pumps seems strange. So then theres perkins, westerbeke, volkswagen engine, ect. Im not lookin to spend more than 3k preferably less. Its a big decision sooo could use some advice thanks!
