New England to Europe departing Early June

Any new info on regulations /entry’s on a crossings next month?
Tough enough for skippers heading North from Fla/Bahamas with the restrictions changing weekly in March and April as you transit States heading home what’s in store for cruisers heading to Europe in June?
Thx

You could try asking the embassy of the country you’re planning to sail to. They can tell you what the situation is now. By the time you plan to leave, that may change. By the time you arrive, it may change again. It would certainly be a shame to arrive after eight weeks, (your profile shows you have a Cape Dory 25?), be running out of stores (there’s only so much you can PUT on a Cape Dory 25), and get turned away by a zealous coastguard vessel.

Until further notice NON-EU residents are not allowed entry to the European Union.
You can get fuel, water and provisions in the Azores in 3 places, including Horta, but nobody is allowed to leave the boat.
On the mainland, only boats and crews from a specific EU country are allowed to enter that country. However, some countries do not allow any boats to enter, regardless of flag or crew nationality.

A lot of EU boats are now sailing back from the Caribean because of the approaching hurricane season and the lockdown in the Caribbean preventing them to get out the hurricane belt.

UK likely to insist on 14 day isolation for anyone arriving from abroad with big fines or repatriation for any form of breach of the rules. Airlines furious but tough. Confirmation for travellers likely in the next few days.

Re: New England to Europe departing Early June

Until at least June 15th non-EU EEA residents are not permitted entry to the EU-EEA.

Expect a 14 day quarantine on the boat upon arrival to your vessels flag nation or nation of citizenship / permanent residency. Time at sea, is not being considered at any port of entry that I am aware of globally.

It would be wise for EU vessels to bug out of the caribbean as there are now two universities projecting a more active than normal hurricane / tropical storm season because of the waters are at record warmth in the Atlantic and Caribbean Sea / Gulf of Mexico and there is not El Nino expected to occur thus limiting the potential for shearing winds that dissipate a storm revolving center.
