New Genoa for Albin Vega 27

Hello everyone!

I'm looking to replace the furling Genoa on my Albin Vega 27. The current one is a 150%, a workhorse, and is starting to delaminate. It's time for a new sail.

The guys down here at St. Martin Sail Works quoted me something like $1,400 for a 135 Dacron Genoa including sail cover and a few other improvements. Does this figure seem about right?

Any other tip son replacing the genoa?

That is about average for a quote. I got one from rolly Tasker for about 1200 ..a 135 is plenty of headsail for a Vega. I will go a little smaller on mine about 110% which is what I have now. And I am in a pretty moderate wind area in Florida

Have you considered a good used head sail?

for half of what a new sail would cost!
