Re: Oceanis vs Sense performance

Last time I checked the Sense line had vanished from their website, is it still a thing? (Considering you are looking for new boats)

Re: Oceanis vs Sense performance

I have sailed both and I did not notice any huge differences. I did hear some negative comments from Sense owners though (mostly related to the engine / drive part).

Re: Oceanis vs Sense performance

A Benetau Oceania 40 rates about 105 phrf.
A Sense 40 rates 84.
That's about 20 seconds a mile in favor of the Sense. The Sense 50 rates 60 and an Oceanis 473 rates about 70.

Re: Oceanis vs Sense performance

I have a sense 46 and it's about the layout that sets it apart. She is a fabulous med boat with large cockpit and almost single level living. Not really worried about speed and mostly sail at 6 to 7 knots to get places. Time is not an issue it's about the experience.
