O'Day 27 or Columbia 28 - Purchase Which One ?

Any thoughts or opinions? Both boats have been well maintained and are in good shape?

I know nothing about Odays, But have raced against one particulay Columbia. It was Very slow. But that may have just been the skipper/crew causing that. I gues I havent helped much. But from a performance perspective, a quick check of racing handicaps would help.

Cheers
Oz

Based on SA/D Columbia should have slight light air advantage.
O'day has a partial skeg making the rudder stronger but also a heavier helm since there is no balancing of the area in front of the rudder post.
The O'day has less draft and less ballast indicating it is probably more tender, but it is also heavier indicating a lot more material in the hull and deck, ie it is stronger, depending on weight of any liners.
Accomodations are similar, though I have a personal preference for the dinette over the L-settee.

I have done work on both and the Oday is a better quality build.

The Oday would be the better deal!
