Pierre, you do your research, don't you?

Someone posted this site on the sailnet.com site, so I came over for a look.

This is a good site, especially for serious cruisers. The other site is more like a bar where ya hangout and BS over a beer. It does have good resources for getting boat questions answered.

Hi Brad,

Yes I like both sites. When you read a lot you have less questions.

Did you look at the website of MARKJ, post 4. The guy who told you it will sink. They already took off in a beneteau 393. They can answer specific questions. They did it in a Bennie! What??? Yes they did.

Good luck, Pierre

Thanks Pierre, I'll look at his site.

I took a look at his site. It is very motivating to go and make a similar cruise (a touch of envy here).

9,000 miles in his 39' Beneteau. Nice.

Hat's off to you Mark and Nicolle.

Awwww, shucks! <<Blush>>

Just go.

Don't do any improvements for at least 12 months.

When we bought ours it was totally basic version, but we had totally cashed ourselves out so we had nothing to spend on the boat. We had this huge long list of 'essentials' like more and bigger batteries, solar or wind, watermaker, hf radio etc.... but we sailed across the Pacific without any of it!!!!!! And we are just about to head off again. We just spent $1,000 on tinned food and painted the bottom - still havent bought any goodies.

Some people will waste another year or 2 (or 5!) at work saving for all the kit before they go cruising. Thats a waste of your life! Bugger the watermaker, get out cruising before a bus hits you!

We have never felt scared in our boat and yours is 11 feet bigger so you have quite a substantial boat! Sail without fear!

Mark
