open cpn

I am new to opencpn I have installed and created a directory named"charts" where I have copied several charts to this directory.

question: how do I get opencpn to load these charts?

1. Click on the properties button(A wrench in the traditional interface, or a gear in the journeyman UI)
2. A new window will open, in the top bar you will see display, connections, charts, etc, etc.
3. Click on charts.
4. The first tab open should be the "Loaded Charts" tab.
5. Within this tab there is a button labled "Add Directory", click it.
6. A folder dialog box will open, navigate to you chart folder and select it.
7. Click ok.
8. OpenCPN will import may take up to a few minutes if you are loading in all NOAA charts.
9. Close options window, close and restart OpenCPN.
