Original wooden decks, how to check for leaks

Living in Norway, fond of solid Orust type boats, and with a budget that limits the choice to 30-40 year old boats, I keep running into the same obstacle - original wooden decks. I am nor particularly concerned about cosmetics, and will happily ditch the old teak, if the sandwich is intact.
Is there a non invasive method of checking the deck for leaks or/and water influx without tearing up the wood?
Links to former discussions appreciated, as well as fresh thoughts.

The classic fast survey of teak deck

Start with dry deck

Hose down, plenty of water

Stand back and let the deck dry

Any wet spots that remain in the deck will indicate broken caulk seams

The surveyor will then Fail the deck

Repairs are then quoted by competent carpenter , deck specialist

Re: Original wooden decks, how to check for leaks

Wouldn’t areas that stayed wet simply indicate low spots?
