Perkins 4-108

Hi. I took the heat exchanger and oil cooler off the perkins 4-108 on my morgan 41 thinking i would remember where all the hoses went back. Well i cant and as i know oil and water dont mix i hate to cross one up. Does anyone have a pic of the aft of their engine they can post so i can use it as a guide? Thanks. Mark

Re: Perkins 4-108

While over 500,000 Perkins 4,108's were built, boat applications were a minority. Boat builders changed the location of ancillary parts to suit their application. Some boats were designed with a vee drive to allow a better engine location for weight distribution and a lower output shaft coupling.

Basically the raw water will pass through the tubes and engine recirculating coolant, will pass around the tubes. This is fairly apparent as you look at a typical heat exchanger and/or oil cooler. We have rebuilt several Perkins 4.108's for Out Island 41's and they are mostly the same.

PM or e mail me direct and I can send photos.

Re: Perkins 4-108

Here are the pics of our heat exchanger and oil cooler but we cant figure out where the last connection goes. Do the heat exchanger and transmission cooler connect directly or are there other problems with these hoses?
