Relatively affordable faster cruising boat

Afternoon!

I'm interested in purchasing a different boat... Hmm...

Over the past few years I have owned a few small keel boats 7 / 8 meter range. Now I would like to purchase a larger boat in the 10 - 12 meter range, both for extended coastal cruising and to liveaboard for a time.

I have been living aboard and crewing all year on a motorsailor and am frankly fed up of listening to the engine! And sailing at 3knots (no amount of sail tweaking is rewarded!)

I am looking for advice on a boat with some speed pedigree.. I need it after this year! The tricking part is always the budget..

The budget for the purchase is 30,000 euros (close to 40,000 USD)

I have seen a few mid 80's beneteau first 375's in budget ish..

I would like a few more suggestions or comparisons if anyone has any??

So,
I'm in the Med
Have a budget of 30,000 euros (40,000 usd ish)
Looking 10 - 12 meters
Wanting more racey / speed style of sailing.
Doesn't need to be too comfortable down below, two separate cabins would be great.

I thank you in advance for any suggestions.

You could add Dehler to that list, too.

Noticed this on Yachtworld today:
Not perhaps a speed boat but will certainly get you there in more comfort and safety than some "faster" boats:

A C&C41 from the 80's would certainly satisfy your requirements. They are more common around here, where they were built, but you never know!

Re: Relatively affordable faster cruising boat

I like my First 375. Maybe not as fast as a J-boat, but fast enough for me, comfortable below, sporty, and solid. Easily singlehanded. If it has the original Volvo engine, find out if the transmission input shaft splines have been repaired/upgraded. This was a known design flaw which has been addressed by Volvo.
