Remote Shifter for 5hp Outboard

A common problem for nearly every sailor in a 25-30 foot daysailer:

Shifting the 5hp outboard when it's 8 feet away, on a motor mount, attached to the open sugar scoop transom.

Has anyone ever seen, or been able to jury-rig, a remote shifter for a 5hp class outboard? (any brand, Honda, Mercury, Tohatsu, etc)

Most of us only use our 5 HP outboard reverse when leaving the dock (my boat is in the slip forward) so if all else fails you could lock the boat's tiller centered and use the outboard's tiller to back out.

I use both tillers as I can reach my tiller from the stern railing which is where I usually sit when leaving my slip

I can't find the part numbers at the moment, but I know Tohatsu offers a remote control kit for their 4/5/6hp outboard.
