Repower 1980 C&C Landfall 38

Good day everyone, new to the forum but not to sailing. I need to repower the old girl and was quoted around 17K for a complete package (See attached) anybody have a line on some less expensive alternatives? Specifics please, do not respond with simply, "get a refurbished or used" or "Try Ebay" I am looking for somewhere (yard or marina) that could help, please be on the east coast. Thanks in advance!

$15,000 sounds reasonable for a complete Betamarine package. You might have to adjust the width of the engine brackets to match the footprint of the old 3QM 30 though.

Actually that sounds fair for that package, shopping around might get you a couple hundred dollar difference, but it's unlikely that you'd see a huge difference.
I had the same Yanmar in my C&C 38 MKII, which is the same underbody as your landfall for the most part, the Beta 38 would have been just enough extra power to make a difference, the Yanmar was just a bit under powered.
Having repowered more than one boat I've shopped around a bit, on new motors the prices vary slightly, but not in any significant way.
Depending on the application the only way I've found to reduce the price is rebuilding the existing engine, assuming you have the skills and tools and experience, it's not for everyone. Otherwise it is what it is.
Are you installing it yourself, or having a yard install it? Depending on how much modification the engine bed requires for the new engine the install cost can vary significantly. I'm currently installing my newly rebuilt 4108 in my center cockpit boat, if I could afford it, I'd gladly pay someone else to do it.
Ibuprofen is my friend.
