Revival

Thought I’d start a little build thread of on the Ranger 23.
I don’t have many details on it yet except it’s a tall rigged ranger 23. Here is how it sits Click image for larger version

As long as the weather holds out, this coming up week I’m going to try and see what’s going on with the deck drain. Pop was saying he tried to fix it a bit ago but couldn’t bend down into the spot to fix it.

Going to be a long slow process but will be totally worth it!

Re: Revival

I don’t remember all the terms, been a bit since I’ve sailed so bare with me. Started some minor stuff today. Had about 3 inches of water in the cabin floor I pumped out, maybe 6inches under the seats on deck.
Found what plumbing I have to redo as well. Some of it was started and part of it only needs some plumbing glue to be hooked up. Later this week hopefully going to eat all the tarps off and start making a list of what needs to happenClick image for larger version

Mmmmmm quite a task ahead of you even though only 23 foot! Those PVC pipe fittings have no place on any boat - with them, you will get that sinking feeling! Use proper fittings with double hose clamps - not PVC elbows with glue!

Re: Revival

I don't know much about them, but one was used in the Movie The Dove back in the day. It was a substitute for the actual boat a Lapworth 24

You can see it here and what one would look like nearly new.

Re: Revival

If he'd put a reef in and sorted the main's shape out perhaps he wouldn't have had to re-stitch the leech before the film even started

Definitely. And replace the gate valves with real quarter-turn ones, checking that there's no other household plumbing work in there. Google dezincification.
